Methodology

In planning and designing enterprise systems, we use an adaptation of the Rational Unified Process along with the Unified Modeling Language (UML). We have found this to be the best methodology to cost efficiently accomplish the complex application development needs of our clients.

We use Object Orientation and design patterns pervasively. 5points.net separates the code into logical layers for presentation, business logic and data access. This method enables changes in one layer to be made without requiring significant changes to other layers, greatly reducing the cost of modifications both during the development process and in the future.

All of our source code is maintained using Concurrent Versioning System (CVS) allowing us to distribute development among several programmers allowing for a rapid development cycle.
